Allergies and intolerances

One should not confuse allergies and intolerances, and must definitely NOT get affected by all the rumors that put the blame on a certain food or a group of food and labeling it as the problem!

Unfortunately, the consumer is often obsessed by the idea of finding a miracle fast way to lose weight which makes them go for these trendy harmful diets that are no good for their health.

We come across many situations. There are people with a confirmed intolerance, in this case we tend to implement a diet in which we remove the group of food in concern, for enough time to improve the consequences of this intolerance.

In most cases, reintroducing this group of food is possible by following a nutritional protocol that I develop with the patient according to their initial struggle with this food and the duration of this diet restriction. As we already mentioned, food intolerance can be improved, having trouble digesting a certain type of food can be tolerated by putting in place an adequate diet and following it. It is also possible to lose weight along with these intolerances if you follow an appropriate diet for this matter.

On the other hand, there are people who are allergic to a certain food or a group of food, in this case, we implement a strict diet that eliminate completely the food containing the allergen.

There are several tests that help confirm an intolerance or exclude it.

Few years ago, a patient came to me, she thought she had allergies and intolerances. She removed several groups of food from her eating habits. Consequently, she had a lot of nutritional deficiencies and suffered from digestive troubles. I did a variety of tests to identify any intolerances or allergies she may have had, but there was absolutely nothing!

You should NOT remove, without a scientific or a medical diagnosis, a certain food from your eating habits as you may do more damage than good to your body.

For people with a confirmed allergy or intolerance, as a part of your initial consultation, please bring the results of all the tests that you took.
